trip for weekend 18th marchmy suggestion for paddling next weekend.
GUIDE TO THE RIVER TYWI
(Llyn Brianne Dam to Junction Pool)
NAME OF RIVER: Tywi (Sounds like 'Towy').
WHERE IS IT: South Wales. Near Llandovery, West of the Brecon Beacons.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Classic welsh paddling: a gradually steepening river, running through sheep scrub and deciduous woodland, through an isolated valley. Starts at class 3 and winds it's way up the difficulty scale until the confluence of two rivers (Junction Pool?) after which it is flat for a km until the take out.

J-ro,
The only problem with this one is that it only goes for a couple of days after rain, and I don't know what the rainfall is like for this coming week.

Martyn, J-Ro,
You still up for something on Saturday?
If so, we need to start planning it!
I have no idea what the water levels are like at the moment, but am up for doing something decent.

spanking = refers to pladdling a large river and getting stuck in a huge hole/stopper where one recieves a "spanking".
a spanking can also occour on a small river, when you are still drunk from the night before and little ripples feel like monster stoppers. (aberglaslin gorge)
