the flying to the francethose of you who are travelling form brum to luton,
the best way to get there is a national express bus leaving at 7:00 costing £13:50.
there is a train but it takes longer and costs more
it might be an idea to book this bus
to get back to brum it will be better to get a virgin bus to milton keynes then a train to new street, this will cost more (train cost £13 again (with rail card) not sure about the virgin bus I couldnt find a price, it takes about an hour) but the busses take 5 hours on the way back and you have to go via hethrow.
those of you going to the south, get the easy bus £2 in to london then the tube to necessary station to get train to where you wanna go.
any questions?
(I did do this ages ago but my internet failed just as I was posting it and hasnt come back yet so ive had to come in to uni... dedication!!)
yep lu the technoloaphobe is on the net...

but the national express takes the same amount of time as the train you quote dave, goes to the airport also and is under half the price - so surely the coach is the best option...or am I missing something
|
David
|
Indeed you are missing something, (' ')
The return journey that Lu had found included a 5 hour return journey, and the price of the bus was unknown.
so the price of the ticket was £13.50 x 2, plus the price of the bus. Whereas the price, of the train would be £29.30 for retun. So both costing ruffly the same amount for those wishing to return.
However, for those who wish not to return to brum the cost of a single seems to be more than the cost of a return (don't you just love the logic). In which case the Coach seems the better deal.
Lu I did find out about the free shuittle bus from Luton Airport Parkway to Luton Aiport and it is free, and runs constantly. (Journey time of 5-10 minutes)
With regards to journey time the best train to catch as it only involved changing once would be 06:52 which arrives at 09:07 approx 1 hour 30 mins before the plane leaves.
The return journey allowing for baggage collection time and traveliing time to Luton Airport Parkway, the best option is the 17:39 arriving at New Street at 19:47

I think the bus comes in with the ticket price of the train coz its a virgin bus, iv just had a flash of inspiration and checked it out , the site recons it costs 24 to get frm the airprt to brum.
I also checked out what you said, now my internet is actually working, (its better in the mornings b4 the girls all get up) and it told me a single would cost 40
iv also loked at your return journey and it was gona cost 90, I think there is some prob somewhere...
ahhhhh ahhhhhh ahhhhhhh

Lu, It only costs me £70 to go from Northampton to Exeter via Coventry and Reading Rtn....God knows where £90 came from.
I think you should easily be able to get to and from Birmingham no problem via train or bus and still have change from a £20.
However you guys get there, good luck!

Bus is the best bet, im booking it now,

Lu ive just looked at returing on the bus and there is a bus leaving at 18:10 which only takes 2h 35 mins, and only costing £20 for return. Looks like its the best option for everyone....(' ')
Which time have you booked, (I'm guessing your looking at National Express)
