Devon Trip - Vote on dates

Hi Everyone.

I have set this up as a place for people to vote on the date of the devon trip.

It would be great to have as many people as possible to come. (once you have voted please post your name as well so I can keep track!)

If anyone hasn't been involved in the communication but would like to come please just contact me. Smile xx
Andy

Emma,

We also need to think about where to go. I know you have mentioned Devon, but South Wales (near St Davids) would also be worth considering. Last time I was there we had fantastic surf Smile

Good one for organising this though.

Andy
Miles

Sion would prob prefer Wales lol
Nick says any weekend is fine for him.
Tim

Any old weekend will do. Out of those three at least.

Can't do the first weekend.
Can do the second weekend
Maybe do the third weekend.

Wales sounds like a pleasant change (and is closer)

Thats cool, if everyone could just make sure they vote as well as write on the wall, that would be good!

Devon/Wales

Hi Guys,

The 27th / 28th Weekend would be best for me and Dave as the other 2 are definitely booked up.

Devon/Wales not bothered, but Wales nearer for us.  Thanks for sorting something Emma!

27th-28th best for me (and rich). the others aren't necessarily out tho. and as to where... I thought newquay was an option too? Don't actually care where tho, I don't live near any of it. Just somewhere which won't eat me alive!
Emma

Hi Stacey,

it will be Devon or Wales - Newquay is way too far for a weekend!!!

Stacey

I'm kent, newquay is quicker to get to than wales!
Dave_A

Hey, My preference is the weekend of the 27th-28th but will it be ok if I get down there for Saturday evening???
Emma

course its OK for you to get down on Sat!!! But are you ready for the Uni drinking? - It will be like 2weeks drinking in the alps squashed into one weeekend!!

Be good to see you..

Hey all,
Caroline and I were on the Gower peninsula  (Wales) not so long ago....good beaches (check out rhosilli beach photos), plenty of campsites and not a million miles off of the M4 so nice and accessible from England.

Chris
Emma

Hey everyone,

The trip is going to be somewhere in South Wales on the 29th June

I am completely open to suggestions of where exactly we should go... but it needs to be somewhere with a good campsite close to the beach who won't mind us being there!

I'll be in touch soon with more details!

Can't wait!

Spoken to Emma, and by 29th June she means:

Weekend 26th-28th June

Smile
Emma

Sorry yeh - it will be going down on Friday the 26th and coming back on sunday the 28th!

... good link Chris but

"although we are not 'families only', we are careful as to who we let onto the park. Well-behaved youngsters are welcome"

doesnt sound too promising!!

I'm gunna keep looking and see if I can find somewhere who wont kick us off after the first night!!! xxx
Emma

Well after some more research... and a better look at the website I think that Chris is right..

Llangenith is one of the best surf beaches in south wales and as it is so close to swansea it has good transport links for everyone...

I am going to call the campsite http://www.hillendcamping.co.uk/ tomorrow to see the possibility of letting us on the campsite. It says that groups of 10 of more are able to come by prior arrangement so I will try and work my charm on them! - Thou it will prob mean that all seshes/drinking will be on the beach but that shouldnt be too much of an issue.

Anyway someone will be in contact in the next few days to confirm numbers -
Oldboys - Andy W
Freshers - Miles
Bham - Sam D
Everyone else who doesn't fit into that - Me!

Dont worry about boats/travel yet...

Looking forward to it!!

A plan...

OK well our favourite campsite (http://www.hillendcamping.co.uk/) doesn't like groups of more than 10.. therefore we will not be visibly a group of more than 10 whilst on the actual campsite. Everyone will pitch up within their group of freshers, oldboys, bham other etc.. shouldnt be too much of a problem.

Weather is looking good (http://www.netweather.tv/index.cg...7769~Swansea%20Bay;sess=#forecast) so we will spend all 'group time' on the beach so hopefully we will get away with being a big group but not...

You cannot book the site and places are allocated on a first come basis. The only way this could be a problem if for people coming for the Saturday night only. However as you pay (£20) by tent and not by number of people if needs be we can just squash the extra ppl into other tents.

Although weather is looking good at the mo, surf isn't looking so great (http://magicseaweed.com/Llangennith-Surf-Report/32/)  so bring rounders bats, kites, PLENTY OF ALCOHOL and anything else you think could be fun.

Saturday night will be a bbq so if you have a bbq bring it and we will organise the food on the day. You may want to bring breakfast and lunch with you though.

Just to check, everyone has means of getting there on Friday??

Any questions just give me a call (07787 959790)

Can't wait!!

Ok guys,

I'm going to be driving from Southampton to the campsite (near Swansea) on Friday evening. If anybody lives on that route(ish) and wants a lift, let me know (07786 936346).

I have room for 4 people & 4 boats if needed.
