Just a question - is there anyway we can have it on a day earlier, say Sunday or something as am heading home tues evening and this will be the 2nd x-mas dinner that I have missed

You're just not devoted to the club enough. If this really mattered to you then you would make alternative arrangements so as not to miss the meal.... again!!
