Idea Did we think about this????

There is a bus "easybus", which only cost two pound but we have to get to bakerstreet.
Also we might need to book if there is twenty million of us??

At a risk of sounding really stupid....but can I ask; Is that Baker Street London your on about Lu? If so, why would you want to travel up from London to Luton?? Would it not be easier to just get a train from Brum to Luton Airport? Or have you guys finished your term and hence you might be travelling up from Devon (the land of creamy goodness) via London coz that would make sense then. Very Happy Very Happy

Another thing you might want to add to your list of things to think about Lu and everyone who is flying...is the hire car place actually at the airport? and also...can we make sure we purchase some maps of northern Italy...?? Hate to get lost and loose out on precious drinking time at the campsite!

We could just get a train from New Street to Luton Airport, or if you wanted to get the easybus Lu we could get a train from Moor Street to Marylebone (which is right next to the easybus pick up) and then catch that. I think it would work out about the same price.
Or we could get a national express which is about a fiver cheaper.
I think we need to see how many people are travelling down from Birmingham first though.

or you could get megabus from brum to london for 1.50,

or fly from brum int, to luton on a charter jet which would be my prefered option. I heard we could put it on Edsco's company credit card

Yet again Jethro...another cracking idea you have come up with there. I espcially liked the whole flying Club Class for the working people of the group you came up with a while back.

Company credit card....?? Is this a perk I have been missing out on all this time.....doh!!

Well dunno about you guys but I am being chauffered down to Luton airport so guess I shall see you there.

yeah not too sure where I will be comming from
so can we get a train straight to luton?
does it have a trainstation?
I hate busses claire!
id prefer to pay the extra £5
why dont we organise who is comming from brum (or possibly the bridge in my case) and plan it together??
also now this is probs gonna be a really stupid question, as usual...
but, what is the luggage allowance???

Guys, the baggage allowance is minimal. The intention is for almost all the kit to go out in the van, with the flyers taking a day bag each, with a change of clothes etc in, and a few tents between you, hopefully doing away with the need to put any baggage in the hold.

we can get a train to luton from birmingham, might have to change trains at some oint tho, so I'm guessing that it has a train station.
I also don't really like buses but its just an option, if we could get the megabus that sounds as though it would be loads cheaper.
I'm not sure if I'll be coming from brum or not, my exams finish on the 15th May (2 days after my bday Wink ) so I'll be going home for a while after that.

Something else for you guys to think about...

At the end of the trip, you need to get back from Luton to Birmingham in order to get your stuff from the van and to help unload it.

You are all flying back on the Saturday, and the van is returning to Birmingham sometime late Sunday, so chances are you will need to find a place to kip. My suggestion is the second years who have houses in Erdington will still have their keys, so you could all kip there.

This is painfull. You lot are supposed to me intelligent people....

To help you out
http://www.london-luton.co.uk/en/content.asp?area=2&id=62

and then you can try www.thetrainline.com to look up trains.

Alternatively I would suggest you hunt down and bribe a minibus driver who is not going to the alps and persuade them to drive you their.

Finally I suggest you look airport parking and see how much that will cost.

Cost it all up and see which is cheapest.

Timmy when Martyn said that 'you lot' were supposed to be intelligent, I don't think that he was including you in that group Wink
